Warm weather is slowly fading away and the cold weather is coming back. So we need to adjust to this and start getting ready for the season and put the summer clothes away. But before doing that it is important to know how to correctly store them, so they appear like new even after a year. These 4 tips will help you do that: 

1. Before storing, make sure the clothes are all clean

Before putting the clothes away, make sure they are washed and clean - if they have any kind of spot or dirt, it is better to wash them right away - the chances of removing any stains will be lower after a year. Also - newly washed clothes will keep. a nicer smell after storing.

2. Use clothing bins or containers

Instead of paper boxes, use clothing bins or containers for storing the clothes. Paper boxes are vulnerable to humidity and water. It is also necessary to leave some space for airflow in the containers. 

3. Know which clothes to fold, which to - hang up, and how

Any item that loses its shape: knitwear, silk, etc - should be folded. Jackets and other outside wear can be hung up - but not on wire hangers. Use wooden or pillow hangers, so they won’t damage the fabric. 

 4. Store the clothes in a dark, cool, dry place.  

Always store the clothes in a dark, cool, dry area and keep them away from the humidity. This will keep them fresher for longer. A perfect area like that is the top drawer of the clothing cabinet.
